The Victim

Published by Nick Razer under Day Turns Into Night

Down by the river on a thursday night.
I was walking along the mushy shore.
River smell of water, fish, breezes.
I came across a small cove, hidden within a thicket of trees.
There inside sat alone upon a rock, the corpse of a victim.
The victim stared, bloated from water, out to the rivers edge.
Its skin mushy like the shore below.
Rotting white flesh stank of fish the same, no breeze in the cove.
Its mouth was full of seaweed and stagnant blood.
And the hair was matted and moldy full of dirt.
Knife wounds on the bloated body,
indicated the victim died a death seen not by many.
Horror, pain and suffering, alone except for the murderer.
Climbing to sit on a stone in the water as death approached.
The eyes reflecting the final terror of death.

Incident In A Cornfield

Published by Nick Razer under Day Turns Into Night

Rows upon rows, searching among the stalks.
Passing glimpses images blurred by the corn as you run through the field.
Rustling, shouting, movement quickens, all sight is corn.
Plowed trails make pathways and intersections.
Distant flash of color darts by far ahead.
A shot.
Scream then thud.

Country Club Dad

Published by Nick Razer under 2001-2006 Poetry

Im in a country club, a rich country club.
I live on a cul de sac on a street in a posh gated community,
with my blonde wife and 3 kids and a dog.
Each week we drive our mini-van to the park to play or to the
local mega-mart to buy groceries.
Sundays are reserved for church, one hour to relinquish all
of our sins.
My neighbors call upon me as block leader to help keep the houses
all just the right color.
On friday nights after the kids goto bed I drink.

I drink a bottle of the most expensive scotch.
My wife skulks off to the bedroom after I finish half a bottle.
I rant and scream in the garage where the kids cant hear me.
After that I move into the bedroom and fuck my wife like a whore
while she cries and stares at the ceiling.
I cum on her face or her tits and pass out.

In the morning I take some alka seltzer, put on a suit, go to the
kitchen and drink the coffee my wife has made and go to work.
Before I leave I kiss my kids and wife goodbye.

Night Calls

Published by Nick Razer under 2001-2006 Poetry

flower like, darkness unfolds
seizing the last vestiges of the suns light
reaching the cracks that once were well illuminated
moving in a steady crawl, one almost doesnt notice
its arms gathering.
afternoon turns to dusk to dark, all in a matter of minutes.
flower like, darkness unfolds

Razor

Published by Nick Razer under Day Turns Into Night

‘i got a razor blade gash
a slash
gushing blood
like a flood
the flow expands across the sidewalk
people talk
above me looking down, faces aghast
blood flowing fast
weaping
life seeping
quickly away on the sidewalk.
